Infertility in Women

Endometriosis is a wide spread present day common medical condition that plagues some 85 million women across the globe. Endometriosis is characterized by chronic abdominal pain, painful menstruation, painful intercourse, painful urination, vomiting and nausea. In India, Endometriosis affects one in every ten women. It is the main cause of infertility in women, denying them the privelage and joys of motherhood.

Endometriosis is a condition in which cells similar to one’s inside the uterus start multiplying, out side the uterus. These cells interfere with the working of the ovaries, ovulation and implantation of the embryo, rendering women infertile. Endometriosis is a life long disease and the incidence is high in the women, who use contraceptive pills for a long period. Though the exact cause is not known but delayed preference for motherhood is one of the main reasons.

The disease is seldom diagnosed in the early stages as the symptoms appear to be yhe normal mensturational problems. It gets ignored and women popup over the counter pain killers to ease out the pain. Painful periods, bowl movement, low back pain and fatigue, are other symptoms which shoul not be ignored.

Urban women are more prone to Endometriosis, as they delay the pregnancy due to late marriage or life style. Endometriosis is known as antipregnancy disease because it has a negative effect on ovulation and implantation of the egg.

Leproscopy is the most popular treatment to treat Endometriosis in young women. They are required to undergo surgery and invitro fertilization(test tube baby). In the older women a total hysterectomy is the only solution.

The best way to avoid endometriosis is to follow the nature’s way and not to delay pregnancy. The rigours of pregnancy, absence of menstruation during pregnancy, breast feeding and other hormonal changes, all prevent Endometriosis. Late pregnancies result in prolonged flow of estrogen, uninterrupted by pregnancy, provide a fertile ground for the abnormal growth of endometrial lining. A healthy and stress free life style alongwith early pregnancy is the best way to prevent Endometriosis.

Why Flax is a Super food?

Flax seeds are rich in Omega 3 fatty acids – a key force against inflammations causing many chronic ailments like arthritis, asthma, diabetes, some kinds of cancers and even heart disease. Most of the oil in flax seed is alpha linolenic acid (ALA). ALA is an Omega 3 fatty acid which is a precursor to fatty acids, found in cold water fish, called EPA and DHA. ALA along with Omega 6 fatty acids, found in corn and soya oils, can help to maintain the ratio of both Omega 3 fatty acids and Omega 6 fatty acids, in vegetarians or persons who do not consume fish. Consuming more of Omega 3 fatty acids helps to lower the risk of heart attack, lowers BP and Cholesterol. Flax oil has 50% more Omega 3 fatty acids compared to 10% in Walnut and canola.

The Flax seed carries one of the best nutrient content compared to its size. Flax seeds contain a good amount of minerals, vitamins, quite large amounts of fiber, antioxidants and Omega 3 fatty acids. It is low in carbohydrates and its combination of healthy fats and high fiber content make it an ideal food for weight loss and maintenance

Flax seeds are commonly known as Alsi seeds. It belongs to Lineacae family. It is a native of Mediterranean and India. It is an annual herb with pale blue flowers. It was extensibly cultivated in ancient Ethiopia and Egypt. Dyed flax fibers have been found from the caves in the Republic of Georgia, dating back to 30,000 BC.

Flax is an annual herb. It is grown for its seeds and fibers, Flax seeds are of two varieties- Brown and Yellow or Golden.
Most varieties have similar nutritional characteristics and equal amounts of Omega 3 fatty acids (short chained fatty acids). The yellow variety is, called solin (traded as Linola), low in Omega 3 fatty acids. The oil of the yellow variety has a different profile. It is better known as an ingredient in paints, fibers and cattle feed. Flax seeds produce a commercial vegetable oil called ‘Linseed Oil’. It has been used for centuries as a drying oil in paints and varnishes.

Flax seeds are edible. They are roasted and grounded and then used as food supplement. Roasted and grounded flax seeds known as ‘Tisi’ in Bihar region, are eaten along with rice, a little of water and salt. Flax seeds are chemically stable and can be stored for a year at room temperature. However grounded flax seeds need to be refrigerated to prevent from going rancid.

Fax seeds contain a high level of fiber, both soluble and insoluble. The dietary fiber helps to lower cholesterol, especially in women. Flax seeds can be used as laxative due to its dietary fiber content though excessive consumption without adequate liquid can cause bowl obstruction. Consumption of large amounts of flax seeds may interfere with certain oral medication. Flax fibers are also obtained from the stem. The flax fiber obtained from the stem is soft, lustrous and flexible. It is stronger than cotton but less flexible. Best grade fibers are used for making linen fabrics, coarser grades for twines and ropes. It is also the raw material for high quality paper, used for printing currency notes and also for making tea bags and rolling paper for cigarettes. 1/4th cup of flax seeds provides 6 gms of soluble fiber. Studies have shown that when flax seed powder is added to diet, harmful LDL cholesterol level drops significantly.

Flax seeds are rich in chemicals including many antioxidants. It is the best source of lignan which are potent antioxidants that help to eliminate harmful free radicals. Lignans are converted in the intestine to hormone like substances called enterolactone and enterodiol. Evidence suggests that lignans may promote fertility, reduce premensturational symptoms and possibly help to prevent breast cancer and type 2 diabetes. Vegetarian diet is one of the reasons, of lower incidence of breast cancer in the vegetarians.

Flax seeds are good source of most of the B vitamins, magnesium and manganese. Vitamin B helps to keep the nervous system healthy whereas magnesium and manganese help to reduce the severity of asthma and to lower blood pressure reducing risk of heart attack and stroke.

Big fiber load, resistance to rancidity (oxidation) of flax oil and hormonal effects of lignans has invoked a renewed interest in the nutritional value of flax seeds.

However care should be taken
  • Not to eat whole flax seeds as they are extremely hard to digest. The need to be roasted and grounded before use.
  • Only 2 to 4 tablespoons should be consumed as they contain very small amounts of cyanide compounds. Heat, especially on dry seeds, breaks these compounds.
  • Avoid eating raw seeds.
Flax seed powder can be mixed with a wide range of foods – like curds, can be used as salad dressing, mixed with wheat flour to bake bread, muffins or other products. It can also be added to porridge or milk.

Vaccines and therapies of the Future

Researchers are, all the time, toiling to find new drugs and vaccines for incurable or hard to cure diseases like Influenza and HIV. With advances in the fields of medicine, genetics and chemistry, efforts are afoot to find new futuristic drugs, vaccines and therapies with the help of state of the art technology.

The body always responds to a pathogen by way of immune system. The immune response is expressed in the form of antigens and antibodies. The cell membranes have specific receptors for different kinds of molecules. The pathogen triggers immune response by forcing the body to secret specific proteins called antibodies against the pathogen (called antibody). It is this antigen-antibody reaction threat neutralizes the effect of pathogen on the body or pathogen itself. Phagocytes (special type of white blood corpuscles) destroy the pathogen by feeding on them (Phagocytosis).

In order to produce antibodies against a specific pathogen naturally, pathogen has to be present in the body. To protect the body against pathogens, we employ vaccination to boost the immunity. The vaccination stimulates the immune system to secret a large no. of specific antibodies which protect against the diseases. The immunity imparted by vaccination can be of two types – active and passive. In active immunity the body produces antibodies in response to dead or inactive or weakened pathogen. Such immunity is long lasting. On the other hand in passive immunity ready made antibodies are used as vaccine to provide immunity. Such immunity is short lived.

The future vaccines are trying to balance between both active and passive types of vaccines. Researchers are testing two new types of vaccines. One vaccine consists of DNA rings called plasmids the other vaccine uses a virus called adenovirus as a carrier. Both types of vaccines employ genes that encode for proteins in the pathogenic organism so that immune cells catch the attention and start responding. But the two types of vaccines plasmid vaccines and adenovirus vaccines employ different methods of delivery. Earlier results have indicated that adenovirus vaccine have scored above plasmid vaccines in providing immunity. The difference in the response lies in the mode of drug delivery.

The plasmids are rings of extrachromsomal DNA in the bacterial cells. The genes for the one or more proteins of the pathogen against which immunity is required are added to the plasmid DNA ring with the hope that they would provoke immune reaction from the immune system. The adenoviruses are the naked icosahedral (nearly spherical) viruses having nucleocapsid and a double stranded linear DNA molecule. A nonpathogenic adenovirus is used as carrier for encoding pathogenic protein.

The DNA vaccines have many advantages over the traditional vaccination. They can be manufactured more rapidly than traditional vaccines as these do not require handling and cultivating potentially dangerous live virus. More over DNA is stable at room temperature where as conventional vaccines need to be refrigerated, which is cause for concern during handling, storage and transportation. The immune system does not perceive the DNA of the plasmid as foreign material as all cells of the body have DNA. Technically speaking the vaccines itself as such does not invokes any immune response. It is only the protein encoded by the plasmid that would cause immune cells to respond. This also paves way for repeated use of plasmids to deliver a variety of genes without the fear of body cells developing resistance.

However new methods of vaccines delivery had to be developed to ensure entry of plasmids in to a large no of cells. New vaccine delivery methods use transdermal patches, gene guns and biojets using pressurized air to deliver plasmids into the skin cells.
Another method is electroportation, which uses electrical impulses to temporarily open up the cell membrane, to allow entry of plasmids into the cell. Electroportation increases the plasmid uptake by thousand folds. The plasmids carrying DNA sequences of genes have been improved by codon optimization. The DNA carries genetic information in the form of codons, each codon consists of three nucleotide bases. An amino acid is coded by a specific codon of three nucleotide bases in a specific sequence, but certain amino acids have more than one codon that codes for a specific amino acid. It has been found that cells favor certain codons more over the other codons. Thus the production of a specific protein in the cell can be optimized by choosing optimal codons.

Each protein molecule is preceded by a leader sequence which makes protein molecule more stable. Certain leader sequences initiate the secretion of a specific protein only. The final improvement has come by way of substances called adjutants. Adjutants are chemical compounds that increase antibody response to DNA vaccines, Instead of adding chemicals to the vaccine, which will create problems regarding handling, emulsification or stability, we can incorporate DNA sequence into the vaccine plasmid itself to synthesize the adjutant along with the vaccine proteins, causing a further five fold increase in the immune response.

The ability to inject genes into cells and to get these cells manufacture encoded proteins opens up new methods of treatment. Classical drugs consist of chemical molecules which have to enter the blood stream to effect core. Most of these chemical materials are excreted or neutralized before they can affect a cure. Thus they need to be administered in large doses which are most often toxic and cause unwanted toxic effects. On the other hand the beauty of the DNA drugs lies in the fact that they will be synthesized in the body in the required amount and that too at the required site, providing a side effect free more effective treatment. Another plus point is that only one injection is required to effect the treatment. Another category of treatment called DNA biological immunotherapy combines the best aspect of DNA therapy and vaccines.

Earlier trials using DNA encoded viral proteins to induce immune cells to attack tumors have shown encouraging results. IT seems that the day is not far off, when we will be able to provide faster immunity to HIV, tuberculosis, cancer and a host of other diseases including flu. However, these vaccines and therapeutics have to undergo extensive clinical testing before human use.

    Pipal (Ficus religiosa)-The Wonder Tree

Pipal tree (Ficus religiosa) is a native tree of India. It is unrivalled in antiquity and religious significance. It is a long lived tree. The oldest tree is in Sri Lanka, said to be planted in the year 288 B.C. It is still alive and thriving. It mainly grows in the states of Punjab, Haryana, Bihar, Kerala and Madhya Pradesh.

Papal is a fast growing large tree. It has a large crown with wide spreading branches. It is a deciduous tree. Leaves are shed in the months of March and April.

The leaves are heart shaped, hang from a long flexible petiole (stalk). They rustle in slightest of the breeze. Leaves are leathery, 4-8 inches long and 3-5 inches wide. They are somewhat egg shaped or rounded, heart shaped at the base with a tailed tip.

The young leaves are often pink colored, change to copper and finally to lustrous green. The grand Pipal tree is a perfect shade tree during summers.

In villages, village people often hold meetings under the shade of the tree and also rest under its cool shade. The stem is large and pale. Numerous roots fuse with the main stem providing a fluted look to the tree. Old branches often bear tufts of fine hanging roots.

Flowers are minute and born inside a fleshy flask shaped receptacle and belong to group of figs. The young fruits are green and on ripening become red/purple colored. The fruits are eaten by squirrels, birds and bats. The seeds pass through the intestine unharmed and are dispersed by bird droppings. As a result, Pipal trees are common in most unlikely of the place, like atop the walls if old buildings, forts and other historical monuments.

Pipal tree can be easily propagated through the seeds and stem cuttings. It can grow in all types of soil. Young trees require proper care and nourishment. Once established, it is very difficult to remove a papal tree. It has great power of regeneration. A new Pipal tree will grow from even a few left out pieces of roots in a crevice. Being scared the trees are seldom removed from parapets of old wall and other places. The growing roots often cause great damage to the monuments.

Pipal tree is of great cultural importance in India. In Hindu mythology it is associated with the birth of Brahma. It is considered to be the abode of Brahma ,Vishnu and Mahesh. Buddhist regard it as personification of Lord Buddha, who attained enlightenment under the Pipal tree. It is, therefore, called ‘Bo’ or ‘Bodhi’ tree. Pipal is symbolic of enlightenment and peace. People tie sacred red thread around it and pray for wellbeing of their children, also for grant of progeny and parenthood.

Pipal tree is of great medicinal value as well and has been extensively used in Ayurveda. The leaves are laxative and a tonic. They relieve fever, arrest bleeding and secretions. The leave are also used in the treatment of heart disease. They are useful in palpitation of heart and cardiac weakness. The juice of the leaves is used as ear drops. The bark is cooling and astringent. Powdered bark is used in the treatment of inflammation and glandular swellings of the neck. The root bark is used for the treatment of stomatitus and ulcers. It promotes granulation and is used as an astringent in Leucorrhea. It is also used for the treatment of gout. Chewing of hanging roots prevents gum diseases. The fruits promote digestion, are laxative, aphrodisiac and prevent vomiting. Ripe fruits are an antidote or defensive remedy against poison, venom and infections (alexipharmic). The fruits are good for foul taste, thirst and heart disease. The seeds have a cooling effect and are astringent as well as laxative. Seeds are also used in urinary trouble.

All trees release oxygen during day time and carbon dioxide during night. It has been scientifically proved that Pipal is the only tree that releases oxygen day and night. Indian Rishes and Munis recognized this fact long ago and initiated the worship of this wonderful tree as divine tree. May be a large scale plantation can help restore the environmental balance.

Home Remedies from the World over

According to the famous Greek philosopher Hippocrates every one has in him or her, a physician. With a little help he can do wonders. Here are some of the kitchen remedies which are in use the world over.

    For sore throat (From Ukraine)
Ukrainian climate is cold and due to cold climate sore throat is very common. Ukrainian people use 1 tsp of honey mixed with 1 tsp of vinegar in a glass of luke warm water and gargle with it. Vinegar acts as an antibiotic and astringent. It also helps to maintain the proper pH where as honey sooths the sore throat.

To fight body odour ( From Italy )
Italia women use a very simple recipe to remove body odour due to sweating. They make a paste of one tsp of baking powder (Sodium bicarbonate) and smear it for five minutes in the armpits. The sodium bicarbonate magically removes all the body odour of sweating.
    For minor burns (From Mexico)
Minor burns are common while working in the kitchen. For minor burns, Mexicans use tomato paste. The freshly prepared paste is smeared over the burn. Tomato paste contains phytonutrients, Vitamin A and Vitamin C which help to heal the burn. The burnt area can also be smeared with Honey. Research has proved that Honey is an excellent antibiotic and helps in quick healing of burns.
    Face pack (From Africa)
Every women wish to appear lovely and attractive and use different types of face packs to maintain the smooth skin of the face. African women use a special type of home made face pack. It is prepared by mixing Honey, egg and Avocado. Avocado makes the skin dry. For dry skin only egg yolk is mixed and for oily skin egg white is mixed. Honey acts as an antibiotic as well as an astringent.
    For Stomach ache (From Hungary)
Hungarians use Chamomile tea mixed with peppermint. Chamomile helps to sooth the muscle and intestines where as menthol in the peppermint acts as an analgesic to gently soothe away the muscular spasms of the stomach. The herbal tea can be repeated every one hour.
    For Bad Cold (From Russia)
With a slight drop in the temperature, it is quite easy to catch the cold and once you catch cold it is a tough job getting rid of it. Try the Russian way to fight cold. Mix one bulb let of garlic (grounded) with one Aloe Vera leaf paste. Add one half tsp of Honey. Mix it. Take some of this mixture on a little cotton swab, rap it up in your hanky and breathe through it for five minutes. The cold will magically disappear. Garlic is a potent antibiotic. Aloe Vera keeps the nasal mucus moist.
Soft and lovely lips (From Middle East)
Soft and lovely lips are the show case of your general health. To keep lips soft and lovely the women of the Middle East have a nice home recipe. Mix 1 tsp of fresh lime juice, I tsp of Glycerin with a little of sugar and smear your lips with it. Vitamin C of the lime juice removes the dead skin, glycerin keeps the lips moist and sugar helps to heal the cracks.

    The Reason Behind Global Warming

Once again weather is playing spoil sport. During summers the mercury shoots up to 47-48 degree Celsius and during winter it dips to all time low. During rainy season either it rains cats and dogs or it is out right draught like conditions.
Four to five years back in Northern India the mercury dipped to all time low of o.2 degree Celsius at Delhi. The famous Dal lake of Kashmir was frozen and people played cricket on it. In other parts as well the mercury dipped to near zero degrees Celsius.
Hurricanes like Katrina and Rita in USA and a devastating earthquake on the Indian subcontinent are indications of natural up heavels. Antarctic snow melted. Subsoil water is getting contaminated. Increased pollution results in acid rain.
The pollution is causing drastic changes which spell danger not only for yhe mankind but also to entire flora and fauna of the earth. We are constantly ignoring the warning signals being sent by the nature through these changes.
Climatic changes have never been so pronounced in last 10,000 years as are evident today. Industrialization, increasing population, decreasing forest cover and rapidly changing life style is responsible for deterioration in the environmental conditions. Amount of industrial pollutants like Carbon dioxide, Carbon monoxide, Nitrogen dioxide and Methane is rapidly increasing due to rampart industrialization.

The green house gases are one reason for the increase in atmospheric temperature. Green house gases like carbon dioxide, methane, chlorofluorocarbons etc allow to trap the heat of the Sun resulting in the increased temperature. If the pollution and green house gases continue to increase unchecked, by the middle of the 21st Century, the mean temperature will increase by 2-3 degree Celsius. This will have devastating repercussions. The polar ice will melt resulting in rise in the water level of the Oceans. A large no. of coastal cities will get submerged. Increase in temperature will result in fierce hurricanes and cyclones causing wide spread damage to life, property and vegetation. The monsoon pattern will change causing draught in large parts of the world. Cultivable land will become arid and the world may be in the grip of a severe famine unheard of in the history of the human civilization.

It is high time that we pay heed to not so subtle signals nature is trying to send, least it is too late. Or we should be ready to say good bye to good times and look ahead to worst times to come.

    Growing Fruit Trees

Fruits that we buy from the market are full of pesticides and insecticides and most often they have been ripened artificially using chemicals, chemicals that are hazardous to the health. All this can be avoided by planting a lot of fruit trees in our kitchen garden. But most of the times the fruit trees planted in the kitchen garden fail to bear good crop. To ensure a good crop from the trees planted in the kitchen garden proper procedure during planting should be followed.
The pits for planting the fruit trees should be dug up well in advance, preferably about a month before undertaking planting. Pits should be round and at least three feet deep. During summer months the pits should be left open to ensure killing of all pathogens. Mix the soil dug up from the pit with equal amounts of matured farmyard manure. The mixture should be mixed with Lindane dust or Cholorpyriphos 20EC if the soil is infested with white ants.
Plant the sapling of the fruit tree in the middle of the pit and fill up the pit with top soil mixed with farm yard manure and lindane dust or Cholrpyriphos. The pit should be filled with soil lightly compacted on the sides and top it about six inches above ground level. This will prevent lodging of the sapling after watering. Loop sided sapling do don’t show proper growth and branches may break under the weight of the fruit.
But what to do if no space for the kitchen garden is available as in case of most of the urban high rise houses. The answer lies in growing dwarf verities of fruit plants in adequate sized earthen pots (about 18’) or wooden boxes ( one cubic feet) in your terrace. But more care is needed as water holding capacity of the pots is limited. Overwatering and under watering are to be avoided. Some of the common fruit trees that can be easily grown in the pots are- Citrus, guava, papaya, mango etc. Care should be taken to buy the dwarf or normal verities of the fruit tree from a reputed nursery or Horticultural departments only.
Enjoy the fruits of your labor.

    Evolution of Robotics

With advances in technology in the fields of electronics and mechanics a seemingly new branch of science called Robotics has sprung up. It deals with the invention and working of sophisticated machines which assist us in our day to day activities and can simplify our work

The idea is not so new. If we flip through the pages of history we find that robotics is not a new idea. According to mythology Greek God Hephaestus(The God of Fire)was served by mechanical devices obviously the Robots. In ancient Egypt priest used steam activated mechanism to open the doors of their temple, used steam powered contraptions to light fires at the alter, at the command of the Head Priest. Around 350 BC Greek mathematician- Archytas constructed a mechanical steam powered flying Robot called Bird. Ctesibus contributed by designing water clocks with moving figures to strike out time.

After a long period, in which recorded evidence is scanty, it is during the industrial revolution that the Swiss clock maker invented robotic doll that could play music or draw pictures. Production of textile was also automated using steam power. In 1801 Joseph Jacquard invented automated loom using punched cards. In 1822 Charle Babbage, inspired by the automated loom of Jacquard using punched cards, invented 'Analytical Engine' also designated as first computer. In 1898 Nikola Tsela demonstrated a remote controlled robotic boat.

It is the 20th century that is the true age of computers and Modern day Robotics. In 1927 in a science fiction movie 'Metropolis' a female robot named Maria was introduced for the first time on the silver screen. In 1959 Artificial Intelligence lab was established at MIT. Rapid advances have been made since then. The modern day robots are small, more versatile, highly mobile and quite intelligent. Robots are extensibly used in deep sea and deep space explorations. All space probes are intelligent robotic machines. The field of Robotics holds immense potential for dreamy and bright individuals capable of vivid imagination. Go ahead and plunge yourself in this potentially unexplored field with high returns on your investment (as a disciple).

A happy GUT leads to a Happy Body

Gut or the alimentary canal technically speaking is a long tube of variable diameter open at both the ends. It consists of mouth, mouth cavity, esophagus, stomach, small intestine, large intestine and anus. Ideally it works relentlessly and silently in a perfectly healthy body and mind. Rumblings in the gut indicate all is not well. Liver, pancreas and a large no of microscopic glands are also associated with the alimentary canal.

The food we eat is chewed in the mouth, is mixed with saliva and swallowed. It passes into the stomach where it is mixed with secretions of the stomach including Hydrochloric acid. The acid kills all harmful microorganisms and dissociates complex food particles in to simple particles.

The acidic food passes into small intestine where acidity is neutralized and food becomes alkaline. Food is mixed with secretions from pancreas and liver for further digestion. Liver secrets bile which has no enzymes. Bile is extremely important for the digestion of fats, without bile fats cannot be digested. Bile also prevents putrefaction of food.

The entire process of digestion is very complex. During digestion indiffusible food is converted into diffusible food. The digested food is absorbed by the body and is used for repairs and maintenance besides providing energy. Excess of the food is stored by the liver, muscles and by the fatty tissues of the body for future use. Both digestion and absorption of food is completed in the small intestine. Digestion and absorption of food are highly co-ordinated and regulated by nerve stimuli and hormones.

To keep the gut and thus body healthy, it is necessary that we eat right kind of food at right time. We should eat neither too much nor too little. As per Indian customs the largest meal should be lunch, breakfast and dinner should be frugal. In between meals fruits and snacks can be taken in moderate quantities, Beverages like coffee and tea should be limited. Alcoholic beverages should be avoided or consumed in moderate amounts only.
Proper evacuation of gut is most important and general health depends mostly on this. In order to keep the gut functioning properly the food we eat should be rich in fibers - Whole wheat flour, green vegetables, fruits and other products rich in fibers. The fibers have no nutritional value yet they are the most important constituent of food. The fibers absorb water and thus help in the movement of food, prevent food from sticking to the wall of the intestine, prevent formation of gases, make feaces odourless by absorbing gases and in proper evacuation of undigested food.

Refined flours, bakery products and fast food should be avoided. Fruits should be eaten along with their skin where ever possible.Excessof coffee and tea should be avoided as excess causes acidity and gas. Mental peace and emotional well being are equally important.

To keep your gut and consequently yourself happy healthy and cheerful it is necessary to exercise regularly, meditate, eat light and healthy.

So keep your gut healthy and lead practically disease free cheerful life.

    What is Myth?

A myth represents an aspect of the inner most self. All Gods, all demons, all heavens, all hells, all worlds and all voids are within us- the myth is intended simply as a story, in the setting of a dream, to manifest the symbol of images within us. A myth is not to be confused with actual events but one has to go to the every heart and essence of reality to take us on a voyage of the spiritual discovery of our deeply felt longings and dreams.

Flower Show in Baradari Gardens Patiala

Last week a Flower Show was held at Baradari Gardens Patiala to hearld spring. Here are some of the photographs for you to enjoy.
